Privacy Notice

As part of providing psychotherapy services, I collect and hold ceratin information about you. This may include your name, address, email address, telephone number, GP details, emergency contact details, information about any medication you are taking, and clinical notes relating to our work together. Clinical notes are anonymised wherever possible.

I collect this information in order to:

- communicate with you about appointments and the therapeutic service I provide

- maintain an accurate record of our work

- support your safety and wellbeing, including responding appropriately in situations involving significant risk or emergency

- meet my professional, ethical and legal obligations as a psychotherapist

Your information will be treated as confidential and stored securely. I will not share your personal information with anyone without your consent unless there is a legal, ethical or safeguarding reason to do so. This may include situations where there is a serious concern about your safety or the safety of another person. In such circumstances, I may contact your GP, your emergency contact or emergency services where appropriate.

As part of my professional practice, I work with a clinical supervisor to ensure that I am providing safe, ethical and effective therapy. Information discussed in supervision is anonymised and your identifying personal details are not shared.

I retain your records for 7 years following the end of our therapeutic work, after which they are securely destroyed unless I am required by law or professional guidelines to keep them for longer.

You have rights regarding the personal information I hold about you, including the right to access your information, request corrections, and raise concerns about how your data is handled.

If you have any concerns or complaints about the way I process your personal information, please contact me in the first instance and I will do my best to resolve the matter. If you remain dissatisfied, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent authority for data protection.
